Sweet Grass Turkeys are a slow growing RARE Heritage breed with exceptional flavor and texture to their meat. They are able to naturally copulate providing potential for additional return on your investment; and they do not develop health issues, like the broad breasted do, as they grow to their mature weight of 32 lbs.
The Sweet Grass Turkeys we are selling were hatched out and raised by their mom's and have received "learned" knowledge about nesting and predators from being in an established free range flock that are "settled" and like to hang out as a group. The Sweet Grass here are used to being herded and handled and get along fine intermingling with our other animals and birds.
If you are looking to start your own flock of Sweet Grass Turkeys, as a promotion of the breed, we may have a limited number of hens we would be willing to sell as part of a trio with a couple of above young toms for breeding purposes only. The hens have started to laying eggs and several are already setting, so one has potential to have a quick return on their investment in eggs and/or poults by buying a trio.
